Teams and members
A team holds your sites, settings and plan. Invite colleagues, and keep each client in a team of its own.
Your personal team
When you sign up you get a personal team, named after you. A free trial from a promo applies to this team.
Create another team
Open the team switcher at the bottom of the sidebar and choose Create Team. Each team has its own sites, members, brand terms and plan, and is billed on its own.
The free Starter plan only covers your personal team. A new team needs a paid plan before you can add a site to it. See Plans, trials and billing.
Switch teams
Use the team switcher at the bottom of the sidebar. Everything you see, from the Overview to the Action plan, belongs to the team you are in.
Roles
| Role | Can |
|---|---|
| Owner | Everything an admin can. Every team has one owner: the person who created it. The owner cannot be removed. |
| Admin | Invite and remove members, change the team's settings and brand terms, manage billing, and create tokens for release markers |
| Member | Use the team's data day to day: the Action plan, experiments, annotations and the rest |
Invite someone
Admins can add people from Settings:
- Ask the person to sign up for Copilot SEO first. You can only add someone who already has an account.
- Enter their email address and choose Admin or Member.
- They join the team straight away.
We do not send an invitation email, so tell them they have been added. The team appears in their team switcher.
Remove someone
Admins can press Remove next to a member in Settings. The person loses access to the team at once.
There is no button to leave a team yourself. Ask an admin to remove you.
Team settings
Admins can change the team's name and its brand terms in Settings. Brand terms split your searches into brand and non-brand: see Breakdowns.
