Your first import

What we import when you add a site, how to follow its progress, and what fills in once it is done.

What we import

When you add a site, we import as many days as your plan keeps, up to 16 months (the most Search Console holds). The import ends two days ago, because Google needs about two days to finalise each day. See How long your data is kept.

For each day we fetch:

  • clicks, impressions, CTR and position for every page
  • the same for every search query, and which of your pages appeared for it
  • totals for the whole site, and splits by device and country

Follow its progress

The Setup page shows how far the first import has got. You do not need to keep it open: we email you when your data is ready.

How long it takes depends on how much data the site has in Search Console and how many days your plan imports.

On Sites, each site shows when it last updated and the day its data runs to.

What fills in afterwards

As soon as the import finishes successfully, we analyse the data. The Action plan, Reports and Topics fill in on their own.

Two things wait for the next morning's routine:

  • Alerts look at how each page moved over the past week. We check each morning after the daily import.
  • Experiments are analysed each morning.

From then on, everything updates every morning. See the daily routine in How long your data is kept.

If it does not finish

If a site shows "failed", "partial" or "reauth required" on Sites, see Troubleshooting.
