Breakdowns

See where your search traffic comes from: devices, countries, and brand against non-brand searches.

Breakdowns helps you find where a change is coming from. If clicks fell, was it on mobile, in one country, or in searches for your brand name?

It always covers the last 28 days up to the "data through" date. Choose one site, or all of your team's sites together.

Devices and countries

Two tables show clicks, impressions, CTR and position by device (desktop, mobile, tablet) and by country. Countries are sorted by clicks, top 20 only.

These figures come from Search Console's totals for the whole site, collected with every import, so they line up closely with Search Console's own device and country reports.

Brand and non-brand

Brand searches are people looking for you by name. They tend to have a high CTR and a top position, and SEO work rarely changes them. Non-brand searches are where most SEO gains are, so it helps to look at them on their own.

To split them, tell us your brand terms:

  1. Open Settings. Only owners and admins can change this.
  2. In Brand terms, enter your brand names, one per line or separated by commas. Include common misspellings and product names people search for.
  3. Save.

A search counts as brand if it contains any of your terms, ignoring capitals. Matching is on any part of a word: acme also matches "acmesoft". Brand terms apply to every site in the team.

The brand split is built from query data, which leaves out anonymised searches, so its totals are lower than the device and country tables. See Why the numbers differ from Search Console.
