Pages and queries

Look through every page and search query we have imported, compare periods and export the lists.

Pages lists the pages of your site that appeared in Google search. Queries lists the searches your site appeared for.

Choose a site and a period

Pick the site and the period with the filters at the top of the page. Periods run from the last 7 days to the last year, and always end on the "data through" date, the last complete day Search Console has given us. See How long your data is kept.

Your choice carries over as you move between pages.

If you choose a period longer than your plan keeps, you only see the days we hold.

Cards and chart

The cards above the list add up its clicks, impressions, CTR and average position, and count its rows. Each card shows the change against the period before, when we hold the whole of that period. The chart shows them day by day. Click a card to add it to the chart or take it off.

The cards and chart follow your search and URL group. Search for /blog/ and they show how your blog is doing.

On a wide screen you also see how many pages (or queries) sit in the top 3, the rest of page one, page two and further down, and which gained or lost the most clicks. A page that dropped out of search altogether shows in the drops.

Click a band under "Where they rank" to list only those pages (or queries). The cards, chart, gains and drops and the export then follow that band too; click it again, or the "Only" tag above the list, to show every position. A page is in a band by its average position in the period you picked, so one that was on page one last month and on page two now shows under Page 2. For how the bands change week by week, see Rankings.

They add up the same rows as the list, so they can differ from the site totals on the Overview. See Why the numbers differ from Search Console.

Search and sort

Type in the filter box to show only pages (or queries) that contain that text. For example, type /blog/ on Pages to see only blog posts.

Click a column heading to sort by it. The list starts with the most clicks first.

To see a saved set of pages, filter by a URL group. See URL groups.

Compare periods

Press Compare periods to set the current period against the one just before it, of the same length. With the last 28 days chosen, that is the 28 days before those.

Each row shows its clicks, impressions and position, with the change underneath. A green arrow on position means it improved (moved closer to the top).

The comparison lists only pages or queries that have data in the current period. A page that dropped out of search altogether does not appear. To check one, turn comparison off, choose a longer period and search for its address.

Open a page or query

Click a page to see its health score out of 100, its totals, a trend chart, and the queries that bring it traffic.

Click a query to see its totals, a trend chart, and every page of yours that ranks for it. Several pages ranking for one query can mean they compete with each other: see Reports.

Export to CSV

Press Export CSV to download the whole list, not just the page on screen. The export uses your current site, period, search, band and sort.

Export Columns
Pages url, clicks, impressions, ctr_%, avg_position
Queries query, clicks, impressions, ctr_%, avg_position, page_count

The export always holds the plain list, even while you are comparing periods.

Why the totals do not match

Pages and Queries add up different data. Google leaves anonymised searches out of the query data, so the query totals are lower than the page totals. See Why the numbers differ from Search Console.
