AI agents

Use Copilot SEO with your AI agent

Your agent can set up your account, read your Search Console data, work through the Action plan and report back. You only do the parts that need you: creating the account, connecting Google and paying, if you need a paid plan.

Just paste this

Copy this into Claude, ChatGPT or any agent that can read a web page. It reads our guide for agents, then sets things up with you and asks what you want before it changes anything.

I want to use Copilot SEO (https://copilot-seo.com) with you. First read https://copilot-seo.com/agents.md. Then help me set it up: tell me which steps only I can do and give me the links, and ask me the questions the guide suggests before you change anything. Once it is set up, suggest routines that fit what I want.

What only you can do

Your agent tells you when it needs one of these, and gives you the link.

How much should it do on its own?

Your agent asks you this when you start. Pick one, and change your mind whenever you like.

Report only
It reads your data and reports. It changes nothing.
Suggest and ask
It proposes each change and waits for your yes. This is where it starts.
Hands-off
It makes the changes you agreed on, records them and reports afterwards. It needs to be able to edit your site.

Give it a routine

Once you are set up, give your agent one of these. We do not run them on a schedule: ask your agent to set one up in whatever it runs in, or paste the prompt when you want it.

Rewrite the five weakest titles

Monthly. Anyone who wants more clicks from the rankings they already have.

Using Copilot SEO, find the five pages on my site with the most impressions and the weakest click-through rate for their position. Draft a new title and meta description for each and tell me why. If you can edit my site, apply them once I agree and record each change in Copilot SEO. Next month, tell me what moved. Follow the "Rewrite the five weakest titles" recipe in https://copilot-seo.com/agents.md.

Weekly Action plan digest

Weekly. Business owners, and anyone who wants a short list each week.

Read my Copilot SEO Action plan and alerts and give me a short digest: the changes most worth making this week and why, anything that moved sharply, and any reviews of past changes that came back. Follow the "Weekly Action plan digest" recipe in https://copilot-seo.com/agents.md.

Annotate every release

After every release. Developers, and anyone who ships changes to the site often.

Whenever we ship a change to the site, add an annotation in Copilot SEO for that day with the version or commit and a one-line summary of what changed. Follow the "Annotate every release" recipe in https://copilot-seo.com/agents.md.

Monthly report across sites

Monthly. Agencies, freelancers and anyone with several sites.

Use Copilot SEO to report on all my sites side by side: clicks and impressions against the period before, which sites grew or fell and why, and the top actions waiting on each one. Write it so I can send it to a client. Follow the "Monthly report across sites" recipe in https://copilot-seo.com/agents.md.

Decay watch

Every two weeks. Sites with a lot of older content, such as blogs, guides and documentation.

Check Copilot SEO for pages that are losing clicks. For each one, tell me which searches it lost, whether a release or a Google update lines up with the drop, and what to refresh. Follow the "Decay watch" recipe in https://copilot-seo.com/agents.md.

Experiment check-in

Every two weeks while an experiment runs. Anyone measuring a bigger change, such as a new template or a site move.

Check my running experiments in Copilot SEO and tell me in plain words how each one is doing. Do not call a result before there is enough data. Follow the "Experiment check-in" recipe in https://copilot-seo.com/agents.md.

Onboard a new site

Once for each site. Anyone adding another site, or a new client.

Add another of my sites to Copilot SEO. Wait for its import, set up URL groups for its main sections with me, and show me its first actions. Follow the "Onboard a new site" recipe in https://copilot-seo.com/agents.md.

What each routine does is in the handbook. Once connected, your agent gets the steps in full.

For developers

The same operations are offered two ways, and both act as you, across your teams.

MCP server

For Claude and other MCP clients. Claude signs in with OAuth; any other client sends a personal access token. Details on the MCP server page.

claude mcp add --transport http copilot-seo https://copilot-seo.com/mcp

REST API

For code, cron and CI, at https://copilot-seo.com/api/v1, with a personal access token. A GET there lists every endpoint. See REST API in the handbook.
